Slow Ground

Osada showed the layer that is normally underneath. Twelve linens, prepared as though a painting were coming, and then not painted. The exhibition asked how long a viewer will stand in front of a surface that has withheld its subject, and the honest answer, recorded at the desk, was about ninety seconds.

Room III was left empty for the run of the show. Visitors walked into it and turned around, which was the point.
