The Long Room

The thresholds between the three rooms were opened for the exhibition and the works were hung as a single line running the whole depth of the building. Twenty-nine metres of wall, one eye line, no groupings by artist.

It is the only time the gallery has hung the rooms as one, and the reason it has not repeated it is in the visitor book - people walked the line at a constant speed and stopped four times, always at the largest work.
